Parish Schools
The schools play a pivotal role in the Catholic education of children up to the age of 11 and provide much needed support for parents wanting to educate their children in the faith. Links between the
parish and the schools are excellent with regular liturgical celebrations for the school community being held in the Church and in the school. There is good collaboration between the school and the
parish as they seek to support the children and their families in sacramental preparation.
Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School: The parish has its own very good Catholic Primary School. Most of the children are Catholics and priority is given to Catholic children. Mass is
celebrated regularly in school and every effort is made to imbue all activities with Christian values.

The Friends of Our Lady of Lourdes School (PTA) have a successful record - supported by the parish - of raising funds to provide equipment for the school.
St Hugh of Lincoln Nursery School
The nursery school was set up in 1995, and is owned by the parish, in Trust to the Archdiocese. There are about 58 pupils with a considerable waiting list for places (28 at the moment). The pupils
attend varying numbers of sessions, under the guidance of well-qualified staff. The nursery school offers local Catholic parents a good pre-school education combined with a nurturing of their
children's growing Catholic faith. Children of families who are not Catholics are also welcomed.
The Early Years partnership ensures a smooth transition from the nursery school to Foundation (F1) Children from both settings spend regular time together from age 2.5 to 4. For those children who
have been offered a place at Our Lady of Lourdes School, 2 visits to F1 take place during their final term at St Hugh's.
