Papal World Youth Event 2008 Sydney, Australia:Fund raising to support three young parishioners for the World Youth Day event in Sydney, Australia
Here the Holy Father, Pope Benedict XV1 celebrated a special Mass for thousands of young Christians from around the world. We were privileged to be able to support Andy, Damhnaic and Emma to be present at that Mass.
Two events were organised to raise money for this and both were successful:
Irish Coffee Morning - To date over £439 has been banked
The Variety Show - enjoyed by all who attended. We were entertained by some very talented parishioners. There was a great atmosphere, great fun and a tremendous parish effort. We would like to thank everyone who supported and helped with the event - those who sold tickets, those who performed, those who bought tickets, those who made donations and those who helped clear up afterwards! £1014 was raised, which is a tremendous amount and will go a long way towards covering the cost of sending Emma, Damhnaic and Andrew to the World Youth Day in Australia. Very many thanks to everyone for your generous support.

This shows the audience enjoying one of the acts at the talent show.
Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes 2008
Three young people were able to join this year's diocesan pilgrimage to Lourdes to help with the sick. To raise money for this, Sr. Gillian, who coordinates the youth helpers organised a sponsored gym workout - please see the photo below of those who took part.
Social Activities
Class Act
Class Act is a vibrant mixed youth and adult drama group which produces high quality musicals and some events/entertainment in church. Apart from providing pleasure to its members and audiences there is a spirit of co-operation between individuals and families, fostering a sense of belonging in the parish.
Social Committee
Fundraising: the committee is made up of 5 parishioners with the primary objective of generating money for the building fund through a series of social events. These have, in the past, included an auction of promises, a jazz/broadway/baroque music evening as well as sponsored walks and raffles.
Outings: The parish has an annual fun outing; in the past this has been Bournemouth and Alton Towers, but has in more recent years been to Euro Disney in Paris, Dublin and in 2007 Rome.

200 Club: 100 people subscribe 10 pounds per month in return for cash prizes from a draw.
